Final 




          All of  a Discourse Approach in Reading class, I learned many lessons. First of all, I learned about recount. The recount is unfolding of a sequence of events over time. We are using language to keep the past alive and help us to interpret experience. The purpose of recount is to tell what happened.


                        - Personal Recount

                        - Factual Recount

                        - Imaginative Recount


          The second lesson was narratives. The basic purpose of narrative is to entertain. The next lesson was descriptive, it's about a text which say and describe what a person, a thing, or place. The forth lesson was procedure, it's tell about how to do or make something. In addition, I learned about comparison and contrast,

 cause and effect,

                   - Cause and Effect that is used to show how the facts or concepts result due to other facts , events or concepts. Words that signal this type of text structure are because, since, therefore, if...then, as a result of, thus, and hence. A graphic organizer may be used to represent the relationship between the cause and effects.

definition and classification,

                - When you meet unfamiliar words and their definition in textbook. You will also find that writers use classification to divide general concepts into a number of different types. Identifying and understanding texts that contain definition and classification will help your academic reading. For example, to be, to define, to refer to, to categorize, to classify, etc. 

Exemplification,

                - Exemplification writing uses specific, vivid examples for the purpose of adding more information to explain, persuade, define, or illustrate a general idea. Examplification provides solid support and strong evidence to prove the writer's main statement.

and the last lesson was problem and solution, It's about...

      I think recount, narratives, descriptive, procedure, and comparison and contrast were easy, but cause and effects, definition and classification, Exemplification, and problem and solution were difficult for me.


     I could to solve the problem with asking teacher, repeat lessons, make a lot of activities, etc.

    Although, some lessons was easy. Some lessons was difficult, but my attitudes toward was great. I got a lot of knowledge. I felt good when I learned this class. I can apply with other subject such as  test, writing, reading, etc. and I can apply for teaching the students in the future.

Learning reflection 15




     I had a discourse Approach in Reading class on Monday 20,2015. I had to connect about problem and Solution. I just made activities that was read passage, then (A) write a sentence explaining the main idea of the text, (B) write a title related to the main idea, (C) create a diagram.

     I think this lesson was very difficult. I couldn't find some passage east. In addition, I cannot really understand it.

     I had to solve the problem such as asking the teacher, repeat this lesson,and etc.

    My attitudes towards wasn't good because I can't understand it. I was confuse about this lesson. I'm sorry to say real feeling.

          I learned A Discourse Approach in Reading class on April 3, 2015. I connected about Exemplification. I checked my homework and teacher answered about "What is language?" paragraph.


               I learned Problem and Solution. It is a pattern of organization where information in a passage is expressed as a dilemma or concerning issue (a problem) and something that was, can be, or should be done to remedy this issue (solution or attempted solution)



               I think this lesson is so difficult. I found difficult that diagram. I didn't know " Where is problem" and " Where is solution" in difficult passages. Vocabularies are so difficult too. I tried to look the keyword which teacher gave me in the sheet. My attitude towards for this lesson was not good. I'm confuse

          On Monday Morning, I learned A Discourse Approach in Reading class about definition and classification. When you meet unfamiliar words and their definition in textbook. You will also find that writers use classification to divide general concepts into a number of different types. Identifying and understanding texts that contain definition and classification will help your academic reading. For example, to be, to define, to refer to, to categorize, to classify, etc. I had activities such as circle the difinition markers, highlight the technical terms, underline the definition, draw a diagram showing the classification. This lesson was difficult, but I tried to do. My attitudes towards for this lesson is good.
 
 
 
 

 
 
          On Monday Afternoon, I had a make-up class. We began  new lesson. It was examplification. Examplification writing uses specific, vivid examples for the purpose of adding more information to explain, persuade, define, or illustrate a general idea. Examplification provides solid support and strong evidence to prove the writer's main statement. I read and highlight the examplification markers, matched the place with the activities.
 
          I felt fun. This lesson was easy. I can understand it. My attitudes towards for this lesson is great.

16 March 2015 (Morning-Afternoon)




          On Monday Morning, I had a Discourse Approach in Reading class. I learned about comparison and contrast. I checked my homework. I read about Men and Women : Do they speak the same language?. It's about speaking of men and women. I found the discourse marker and answer the questions.Next lesson is Cause and Effect that is used to show how the facts or concepts result due to other facts , events or concepts.           On Monday Afternoon, I had a make up class. I learned about cause and effect markers such as cause, effect, impact, to force, etc. I did many activities.For example, highlight cause and underline effect, write  the cause and effect diagrams.

          I think diagrams are so difficult.This lesson is very difficult for me because I have to find cause and effect. Some sentences are complicate but I tried to understand it. I try to do it best.

          My attitude toward for this lesson is good. It's so fun and interesting.I can practice my reading skill.

              I had a Mid-term test in a Discourse Approach in Reading  class  and studied too. I learned about comparison contrast. I did many activities and checked my homework
 

           It's easy.They had a keywords and answers in text.

 
However, Some vocabulary was a bit difficult. My attitudes

 towards the lesson are excellent!. I loved 
this lesson. It's easy

 to understand and search the 
answers in the text.                   
                  I felt tired and a bit stress for test.But Now!!! I'm better good.

          On Monday, I had a test about Recount-Descriptive, but i had a studying also. I checked out the homework on procedure sheet. Then, I learned next lesson. This lesson is Comparison and Contrast.There is  similarities between two or more thing,and differences between two or more thing, or both.The teacher gave examples about apples and orange. T told about similarities and differences between apples and orange.



          I had a lot of homework,but i try to do it.

          I felt stress because of test, but after that i'm ok. Fine!!. I can understand thiis lesson and teaching.Happy!!!!!!

          I  had a Discourse Approach in Readind class. I learned about Procedure. This lesson is to tell about how to do or making something. The teacher has examples for explain to me. For eample, How to make Banana shake , Recipe for Banana cake ,and chicken soup, etc. Then, I made many activities; I matched sentences with the correct picture. I answered the question. I thought about vacabulary in How tomake omlet cilp.

 

          I can design about How to... or do something in my mind that I thought easy, and I didn't have any problem. I thought the vocabulary for explain which a little difficult.

 

          I felt fun and had a lot of knowleage in this lesson. Great!!!!^^

          I had a Discourse Approach in Reading class. In Monday,I learned about Descriptive. I worked group with four people and then, We described about Komodo dragon. We presented in front of class about it. I read each descriptive text and answered the question that follow. Next, I made some activity. I have a homework. Last, I saw a video about Secret.




           I think this lesson was a pretty good, but my little problem was vocabulary. Sometime I can't find correct word for describe.

           My attitude towards for lesson was great. T understood and I can describe them.

           I had a Discourse Approach in Reading class in Monday. I learned about Narrative; Secret (Part two). My frineds and I discussed and sum up about this story. I presented a conclusion in front of class. I made many activities. For example

- produce a summary of the second part of the story

- choose on of the verbs, then complete each sentence

- talk about different respponses

- taik about what do you feel about the story? with partner,etc.

and  A teacher assigned about role play.

          This lesson was good for me because i love reading. I didn't have problem.My attitudes towards the lesson was excellent!!!.

                                 Learning Reflection (week4)




           Today, I had a Discourse Approach in Reading class. The teacher taught me about Narratives, then I discussed with friend about my story. I learned about sample text : narratives annd secrets by Tim Winton ; check a cross on line in the circle, at an appropriate point, to show how felt as a child. The teacher described a secrets story (part one). She told me "try to understand a secrets story " and "What do you think about story? "

 


           I thought the story was interested. Maybe the teaching was good. Therefore, It wasn't difficult and I didn't have a problem.

 

           Finally, My attitudes towards the lesson was great. I liked the story and love to translat, then I love reading.!!!!!

           In Monday afternoon, I had a discourse Approach in Reading class again.It was a class making.This class insteaded 19 January 2015,The teacher had the seminar.Teacher repeated the Recount and finished the exercise.She taught the next lesson.



           The next lesson was The Narrative.The Teacher had  activities. She taught about Narrative.I wrote a narrative with my friends and presented the Narrative in front of class.
            This lesson was the same with Recount.It was not easy not hard.I had a little vocabulary problem.I wasn't knew about some difficult vocabulary.I tried to find a vocabulary in dictionary.my attitudes for tis lesson was good.

12 January 2015 (morning)




                 In Monday morning( 12 january 2015 ), I had a discourse Approach in Readind class. I learned about Recount.First,The teacher advised American football Video.She said " What the words do you think in this video? " and The student wrote on the whiteboard.We had many words in the board but I thought the word is "attack". The teacher connected to the lesson.She had the Recount Powerpoint.She handed out the sheet and described about Recount.

       - Imaginative Recount




                      
     The teacher had a text example and had the exercise by analyse the text,Read the text and answer the questions.I found the text organisation and Language features.
      I thought this lesson was not easy not hard.It had a keywords and the text.I just learned about to tell what  happened.Therefore,It wasn't problem for me and I thought I had a lot of knoeledge.My attitudes for this lesson was nice.This lesson was easy to understand ( in my opinion ).

        Today, I had a discourse Approach in Reading class. Teacher explained the course outline or Course introduction. She taught me about discourse,discourse marker,made some sheets and tried to understand genres of text.
        I thought genres of text is easy.I looked at keyword and discourse marker. Immediately,I knew genres of text.

        I thought II Directions was difficult for me.but I tried to understand and review the lesson.

        This lesson was fun and necessary for me.I learned new vocabulary, new knowledge.
